Abstract
In an embodiment, the methods and systems disclosed herein utilize a cloud-based service to accept measurements of commercial objects for storage in a database. In an embodiment, commercial objects are automatically grouped based on measured physical characteristics. In an embodiment, a build plan is generated to utilize the maximum amount of space possible in a shipping container based on the grouped commercial objects.
Claims20
A computer-implemented method comprising:
- receiving, at a computer system, package data specifying physical attribute values for a first plurality of objects which will be transported commercially;
- sending, by the computer system, the package data to a package database, the package database storing the package data;
- grouping, by the computer system, based on stored package data in the package database, the first plurality of objects which will be transported commercially and a second plurality of object which will be transported commercially into two or more package groups, wherein grouping the objects is based on the physical attribute values for each object of the first and second plurality of objects, wherein the each of the two or more package groups comprises different physical attribute values for the grouped objects;
- associating, by the computer system, a human-recognizable symbol with each package group of the two or more package groups, wherein the human-recognizable symbol for each package group is visually distinguishable from the human-recognizable symbols for every other package groups in the two or more package groups;
- and
- generating, by the computer system, a package build plan, wherein the package build plan specifies a physical arrangement of objects in the two or more package groups.
One or more non-transient computer-readable storage media comprising instructions which, when executed by a processor, cause the processor to:
- receive, at a computer system, package data specifying physical attribute values for a first plurality of objects which will be transported commercially;
- send, by the computer system, the package data to a package database, the package database storing the package data;
- group, by the computer system, based on stored package data in the package database, the first plurality of objects which will be transported commercially and a second plurality of object which will be transported commercially into two or more package groups, wherein grouping the objects is based on the physical attribute values for each object of the first and second plurality of objects, wherein the each of the two or more package groups comprises different physical attribute values for the grouped objects;
- associate, by the computer system, a human-recognizable symbol with each package group of the two or more package groups, wherein the human-recognizable symbol for each package group is visually distinguishable from the human-recognizable symbols for every other package groups in the two or more package groups;
- and
- generate, by the computer system, a package build plan, wherein the package build plan specifies a physical arrangement of objects in the two or more package groups.
