Proximity selector

A system, comprising:

• a user input interface;
• a processing system;
• one or more storage media;
• and
• an application stored on at least one of the one or more storage media that, when executed by the processing system, direct the processing system to:
• identify an origination point for a selection shape, wherein the origination point is a location on a user interface where the selection shape is to be surfaced and anchored to;
• surface the selection shape in the user interface and anchored to the origination point;
• capture content in the user interface that is within a capture area of the selection shape;
• identify that the captured content is part of a grouping of content, wherein the grouping of content includes a portion outside the capture area;
• and
• in response to identifying that the captured content is part of the grouping of content, capture the entire grouping of content.

One or more computer readable storage media having instructions for an application stored thereon what when executed by a processing system, direct the processing system to at least:

• identify an origination point for a selection shape, wherein the origination point is a location on a user interface where the selection shape is to be surfaced and anchored to;
• surface the selection shape in the user interface and anchored to the origination point;
• capture content in the user interface that is within a capture area of the selection shape;
• identify that the captured content is part of a grouping of content, wherein the grouping of content includes a portion outside the capture area;
• and
• in response to identifying that the captured content is part of the grouping of content, capture the entire grouping of content.
