Abstract
Described herein is a LEP ink composition for printing a security image, the LEP ink composition comprising a first resin, a fluorescent composite comprising a fluorescent dye and a second resin matrix.
Claims15
A security liquid electrophotographic (LEP) ink composition comprising:
- a first resin;
- a carrier liquid;
- and
- a fluorescent composite comprising a fluorescent dye and a second resin matrix,
- wherein the fluorescent dye is selected from the group comprising:
- coumarins, benzothiazoles, benzoxazoles, benzimidazoles, quinazolinones, benzoxazinone, europium chelates, dansyls;
- 3,6-disulfo-1,8-dinaphthalimides, N-methyl-4-methoxy-1,8-naphthalimide, stilbenes, derivatives of pyrazolines containing sulfonic acid groups, 1,4-bis(styryl)biphenyls, 1,3-diphenyl-2-pyrazolines, carbostyrils, dibenzothiophenes, 9, 10-anthracenes;
- 5,12-naphthacenes;
- salicylideneanilines, triazines and salts thereof.
6 more elements
A security liquid electrophotographic (LEP) ink composition comprising:
- a first resin;
- a carrier liquid, and
- a fluorescent composite comprising a fluorescent dye and a second resin matrix,
- wherein the LEP ink composition is colourless and transparent when viewed under visible light and emits visible light on exposure to UV light.
1 more element
A method of producing a security liquid electrophotographic (LEP) ink composition, the method comprising combining:
- a first resin;
- a carrier liquid, and
- a fluorescent composite comprising a fluorescent dye and a second resin matrix,
- wherein the fluorescent composite is selected such that the fluorescent dye absorbs UV light and emits visible light, and the LEP ink composition is colourless and transparent when viewed under visible light.
