Abstract
A liquid crystal panel includes a pair of substrates, a liquid crystal layer, and a sealant. The liquid crystal layer is disposed between the substrates. The sealant is disposed at edges of the substrates to seal the liquid crystal layer. At least one of the substrates includes an alignment film and a high wettability section. The alignment film is for aligning liquid crystal molecules in the liquid crystal layer. The high wettability section is in contact with the liquid crystal layer between outer edges of the alignment film and the sealant. The high wettability section has wettability greater than wettability of the alignment film.
Claims10
A liquid crystal panel comprising:
- a pair of substrates;
- a liquid crystal layer disposed between the substrates;
- and
- a sealant disposed at edges of the substrates to seal the liquid crystal layer,
- wherein at least one of the substrates includes:
- an alignment film for aligning liquid crystal molecules in the liquid crystal layer;
- and
- a high wettability section in contact with the liquid crystal layer between outer edges of the alignment film and the sealant, the high wettability section having wettability greater than wettability of the alignment film.
