Abstract
An optical fiber cable includes a plurality of tight buffered optical fibers arranged substantially in parallel in a longitudinal direction and a clear backing material attached to the plurality of tight buffered optical fibers to form a fiber region and an extended region defined a portion of the backing material extending beyond the fiber region.

An optical fiber cable comprising:
- a plurality of optical fibers arranged substantially in parallel in a longitudinal direction;
- and
- a backing material attached to the plurality of optical fibers to form a fiber region and an extended region, the extended region defining a portion of the backing material extending beyond the fiber region and absent of any optical fibers.
A method of attaching an optical fiber cable to a structure, the method comprising:
- providing an optical fiber cable comprising:
- a plurality of optical fibers arranged substantially in parallel in a longitudinal direction;
- and
- a backing material attached to the plurality of optical fibers to form a fiber region and an extended region, the extended region defining a portion of the backing material extending beyond the fiber region and absent of any optical fibers;
- attaching the optical fiber cable to the structure with an attachment means connected to or through the extended region.
