Abstract
An electronic control unit or ECU as an object detection device is mounted on an own vehicle equipped with a millimeter wave sensor. The ECU provides functions of a first detection part, a second detection part and a presence probability calculation part. The first detection part performs a FMCW method, and the second detection part performs a FCM method so as to detect presence of a detection target on the basis of detection results of the millimeter wave sensor. The presence probability calculation part calculating a presence probability of the detection target on the basis of the detection results of the first detection part and the second detection part.

An object detection device, to be mounted on an own vehicle equipped with a sensor which transmits waves to a detection target in surroundings of the own vehicle, and receives, as detection results, reflected waves reflected by the detection target,
- the detection device comprising a computer system including a central processing unit, the computer system being configured to provide:
- a plurality of detection parts performing a plurality of object detection methods which are different from each other, each detecting presence of a detection target on the basis of detection results of the sensor;
- and
- a presence probability calculation part calculating a presence probability of the detection target on the basis of detection results of the plurality of detection parts.
An object detection method comprising steps of:
- performing a plurality of object detection methods which are different from each other, and detecting presence of a detection target on the basis of detection results of a sensor mounted on an own vehicle;
- and
- calculating a presence probability of the detection target on the basis of detection results of the plurality of object detection methods.
A non-transitory computer readable medium storing a program causing a computer to execute an object detection process, the object detection process comprising:
- performing a plurality of object detection methods which are different from each other, and detecting presence of a detection target on the basis of detection results of a sensor mounted on an own vehicle;
- and
- calculating a presence probability of the detection target on the basis of detection results of the plurality of object detection methods.
