Abstract
A method to determine a stopping distance of an industrial truck comprises the steps of (i) measuring a distance traveled by the industrial truck and set points in time therebetween to determine a current vehicle speed, (ii) ascertaining at least one comparative value indicative of a relative speed change depending on at least one distance traveled during an acceleration of the industrial truck, and (iii) determining the stopping distance from the current vehicle speed and the ascertained comparative value.
Claims10
A method for determining a stopping distance of an industrial truck, comprising the steps of:
- measuring a distance traveled by the industrial truck over two set points in time to determine a current vehicle speed;
- ascertaining at least one comparative value indicative of a relative speed change over the measured distance travelled during an acceleration;
- and
- determining the stopping distance from:
- (i) the current vehicle speed and (ii) the ascertained comparative value indicative of the relative speed change.
The method according to 1 wherein the step of determining the stopping distance of the industrial truck includes the step of:
- weighing a reference stopping distance for comparison to the actual speed and the comparative value.
A method for determining a stopping distance of an industrial truck, comprising the steps of:
- measuring a distance traveled by the industrial truck by subtracting two set points in time to determine a current vehicle speed;
- developing at least one comparative value indicative of an acceleration by:
- (i) determining an average speed for a time interval between the two set points in time from the traveled distance therebetween,
- (ii) providing a comparative speed for one of:
- (i) the time interval lying between the two set points in time, and (ii) the interval of time lying between the last two travelled distances, and,
- (iii) determining the at least one comparative value based on a quotient of the average speed and the comparative speed;
- determining the stopping distance from:
- (i) the current vehicle speed and (ii) the comparative value;
The method according to 7 wherein the step of determining the stopping distance of the industrial truck includes the steps of:
- weighing a reference stopping distance for comparison to the actual speed and the comparative value, and
- weighing a quotient of the actual speed with one of (i) the reference value, and (ii) a power of the reference value.
