Abstract
The present invention concerns a method for treating the production water originating from enhanced hydrocarbon recovery, and containing one or more water-soluble polymers and Fe2+ ions, consisting of at least partially oxidizing the Fe2+ ions by introducing at least one reaction activator and oxygen into said production water, the molar ratio of introduced oxygen to Fe2+ ions being less than or equal to 0.25.
