Abstract
A device for replaying audio data including data sets of separately readable ordered data sequences to be replayed and including a loudspeaker or a loudspeaker connection, a sensor that can detect within a region of its surroundings a property or a change in a property of the surroundings, a control unit that can drive the loudspeaker or the loudspeaker connection for replaying audio data, where the control unit, in response to a select signal from the sensor, generates a command to jump to a next one of the separately readable ordered data sequences to be replayed.
Claims19
A toy for playing music, a spoken story, image data, video data or three-dimensional data, comprising:
- at least one of a speaker, display, loudspeaker connection and connection for a display;
- a memory configured to store at least one media file, said at least one media file including at least one of audio data, image data, and video data defining one or more records with chapters of separately readable ordered data sequences;
- a sensor configured to detect at least one of a property or a change in the property within a sensing region of the sensor;
- a control unit coupled to the at least one of the speaker, the display, the loudspeaker or the connection for a display, for driving controlling operation of at least one of the speaker, the display, the loudspeaker connection or the connection for a display, in response to a signal from the sensor detecting at least one of the property or the change in the property, or in response to detection by the control unit of a change in a signal from the sensor;
- an operating element in communication with the control unit;
- wherein, when playing said at least one media file including at least one of audio data, image data, and video data defining one or more records with chapters of separately readable ordered data sequences, the control unit, in response to a signal from the operating element, generates a command to jump to a next chapter or a previous chapter of said separately readable ordered data sequences to be replayed.

A toy comprising:
- at least one of a speaker, a display, a loudspeaker connection and a connection for a display;
- a memory configured to store at least one media file, said at least one media file including at least one of audio data, image data, and video data;
- a sensor configured to detect at least one of a property or a change in the property within a sensing region of the sensor;
- a control unit coupled to the at least one of the speaker, the display, the loudspeaker connection and the connection for a display, and coupled to the sensor, said control unit configured to:
- receive a signal from the sensor when the sensor detects at least one of the property or the change in the property;
- detect a change in the signal from the sensor;
- responsive to receipt of the signal from the sensor or detection of the change in the signal from the sensor, determine whether the signal is indicative of a predetermined property or a predetermined change in the property;
- and
- responsive to a determination that the detected property or the detected change in the property corresponds to the predetermined property or the predetermined change in the property, drive, for playing the at least one media file, the at least one of the speaker, the display, the loudspeaker connection or the connection for a display;
- and
- at least one operating element, said at least one operating element configured to:
- receive actuation inputs for controlling a parameter of the playing of the at least one media file;
- and
- responsive to receipt of the actuation inputs, adjust the parameter;
- wherein the at least one operating element is not configured to initiate playing of the at least one media file.

A removable identification article for a device, comprising:
- an antenna;
- a transmitter coupled to the antenna;
- non-volatile memory storing identification data for the removable identification article;
- and
- a control unit coupled to the antenna, the transmitter, and the non-volatile memory, wherein the control unit configured to:
- transmit the identification data by the transmitter via the antenna to the device;
- wherein the device is configured to play a media file upon detection of the removable identification article.
