Abstract
A process includes removing air bubbles from extracorporeal blood via chemical entrapment of nitrogen (N2) gas.
Claims20
An extracorporeal blood treatment system comprising:
- an air bubble removal component to remove air bubbles from extracorporeal blood via chemical entrapment of nitrogen (N2) gas.
An air bubble removal system to remove air bubbles from extracorporeal blood via chemical entrapment of nitrogen (N2) gas, the air bubble removal component comprising:
- a first nitrogen gas entrapment chamber packed with a first set of surface-modified alumina nanoparticles having a first average particle size;
- and
- a second nitrogen gas entrapment chamber packed with a second set of surface-modified alumina nanoparticles having a second average particle size,
- wherein the second nitrogen gas entrapment chamber is disposed downstream of the first nitrogen gas entrapment chamber.
