Abstract
Constituent elements of a clothes hanger comprising one or more planar segments (1, 3) that can be assembled to form a clothes hanger for suspending a garment, the assembly typically involving folding the one or more planar segments and fixing them together, the fixing means (1A, 1B; 2A, 2B; 3A, 3B; 4A, 4B; 5A, 5B, 6A, 6B; 7A, 7B; 8A, 8B) including glue or tabs, wings etc. The clothes hanger may employ planar or tubular grippers hanger tubes for forming or bulking out arms of the hanger, etc. Manufacturing methods are also provided for manufacturing a clothes hanger.
Claims155
A clothes hanger comprising planar segments that can be assembled to define a hanger shape for suspending a garment, comprising:
- a hanger frame formed from a first planar segment having outwardly extending arms;
- a top strip formed from a second planar segment;
- wherein:
- the top strip is horizontally securable onto the hanger frame with the hanger frame disposed vertically.
A clothes hanger, comprising:
- a hanger frame formed from a first planar segment having outwardly extending arms from which a garment can be suspended;
- a U-shaped bracket defining upper and lower legs each of which having holes for accommodating a wire-based hanger hook, the holes of the bracket facilitating the sliding of the bracket along the hanger hook from a tip of the hanger hook so as to rest on a pommel of the hanger hook, the bracket legs being configured such that following insertion of the bracket into the slot of the hanger frame, portions of each leg may be folded thereby to secure the bracket to the hanger frame.
A clothes hanger in an assembled condition according to any preceding claim.
A planar or cylindrical clothes gripper for gripping a garment to be suspended by the gripper, corn prising:
- opposing channel walls defining a channel therebetween within which a portion of the garment may be inserted from a tip of the channel towards a base of the channel;
- a plurality of teeth protruding into the channel from the opposing channel walls for engaging a portion of a garment.
A method of manufacturing a clothes hanger comprising planar segments for suspending a garment, comprising:
- providing upright pins;
- providing first and second planar segments having indents corresponding in dimension and relative positioning to the upright pins;
- disposing the first planar segment such that the indents of the first planar segment abut against the upright pins;
- disposing the second planar segment on top of the first planar segment and such that the indents of the second planar segment abut against the upright pins;
- and
- fixing the second planar segment to the first planar segment whilst the indents of both abut the upright pins.
A tubular clothes gripper for gripping a garment to be suspended by the gripper, comprising:
- a first cylindrical segment having a pair of diametrically opposing channels formed therein configured such that a garment may be retainably received following insertion into the channels in a direction from the tips of the channels to the base of the channels.
A tubular clothes gripper for gripping a garment to be suspended by the gripper, comprising:
- an inner cylindrical segment having a pair of diametrically opposing channels formed therein;
- an outer cylindrical segment having a pair of diametrically opposing channels formed therein, wherein:
- the outer cylindrical segment is arranged to rotatably fit over the inner cylindrical segment such that the channels of the inner and outer cylindrical segments can be relatively displaced into rotational alignment, whereupon a garment can be inserted, and out of rotational alignment, whereupon an inserted garment can be pinched, and/or gripped, between the inner and outer cylindrical segments.
A tubular clothes gripper, comprising:
- a tube incorporating a slit along its length, the tubular clothes gripper being configured such that the portions of the tubular gripper either side of the slit are resiliently biased towards one another such that if the portions of the tubular gripper are forced apart and a garment is placed therebetween, the garment is then gripped between the portions of the tubular gripper.
A clothes hanger comprising planar segments that can be assembled to define a hanger shape for suspending a garment, comprising:
- a hook formed from a first planar segment;
- a hanger bar formed from a second planar segment having outwardly extending arms;
- and
- attachment means for attaching the hook to the hanger bar.
A clothes hanger comprising planar segments that can be assembled to define a hanger shape for suspending a garment, comprising:
- a hook formed from a first planar segment;
- a hanger bar formed from a second planar segment having outwardly extending arms relative to the hook, which is centrally disposed;
- wherein the second planar segment is folded at least once to form a reinforced top part of the hanger bar, optionally wherein the at least one fold extends along a longitudinal edge of the second planar segment to form the reinforced top part of the hanger bar, and/or optionally wherein the second planar segment is folded more than once to form a tube extending along a top of the hanger bar.
A clothes hanger comprising planar segments that can be assembled to define a hanger shape for suspending a garment, comprising:
- a hanger bar formed from a first planar segment having outwardly extending arms;
- and
- an extension formed from a second planar segment disposable so as to be slidable on one of the arms of the hanger bar, wherein:
- the extension is configured so as to be anchored when subjected to a tilting force thereby preventing sliding of the extension on the arm of the hanger bar on which it is disposable.
A clothes hanger comprising planar segments that can be assembled to define a hanger shape for suspending a garment, comprising:
- a hanger bar formed from a first planar segment having outwardly extending arms;
- planar gripping jaws for gripping a portion of the garment when placed between the gripping jaws;
- a clamping piece formed from a second planar segment having a clamping piece aperture dimensioned so as to enable the clamping piece to fit over the gripping jaws through the clamping piece aperture, wherein:
- the clamping piece can be slid over the gripping jaws thereby to adjust the separation between the gripping jaws.
A clothes hanger for suspending a garment, comprising:
- a hanger bar formed from a planar segment having outwardly extending arms;
- a spring clip;
- and
- attachment means for mounting the spring clip to the hanger bar.
A clothes hanger for suspending a garment, comprising:
- a hanger centre piece formed from a planar segment;
- a hanger tube having a first end and a second end, wherein:
- the hanger tube is arranged to fit onto the hanger centre piece.
The clothes hanger according to any one of 122 to 141, wherein the hanger centre piece comprises a hook from which the clothes hanger is to be suspended from a rail.
A clothes hanger for suspending a garment, comprising:
- a hanger centre piece formed from a planar segment comprising at least one aperture, optionally an entry aperture and a spur aperture;
- a wire-based hook having a first proximal wire end and a second distal wire end, the wire-based hook defining a hook shape at a first proximal wire end region encompassing the first proximal wire end and defining a looped, or otherwise bent engaging region, at a second distal wire end region encompassing the second distal wire end, wherein
- the clothes hanger is configured such that the looped, or otherwise engaging region, of the wire-based hook can be threaded in the at least one aperture thereby to lock the wire-based hook to the hanger centre piece, optionally inserted through the entry aperture of the hanger centre piece and thereafter can be clipped to both the entry aperture and the spur aperture of the hanger centre piece thereby to lock the wire based hook to the hanger centre piece.
