## Abstract

An image processing apparatus includes: a gradation correction section that performs output gradation correction with respect to input multi-value image data; a conversion section that converts the multi-value image data, which is acquired after the output gradation correction is performed by the gradation correction section, into binary image data; a storage section that stores the multi-value image data or the binary image data; and a control section that performs control such that the multi-value image data, which is acquired before the output gradation correction is performed, is stored in the storage section in a case where content of the input image data is content which requires the output gradation correction, and such that the binary image data is stored in the storage section in a case where the content of the input image data is content which does not require the output gradation correction.

## Claims

### Claim 1

An image processing apparatus comprising:
a gradation correction section that performs output gradation correction with respect to input multi-value image data;
a conversion section that converts the multi-value image data, which is acquired after the output gradation correction is performed by the gradation correction section, into binary image data;
a storage section that stores the multi-value image data or the binary image data; and
a control section that performs control such that the multi-value image data, which is acquired before the output gradation correction is performed, is stored in the storage section in a case where content of the input image data is content which requires the output gradation correction, and such that the binary image data is stored in the storage section in a case where the content of the input image data is content which does not require the output gradation correction.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The image processing apparatus according to claim 1,
wherein the control section performs control such that the binary image data is stored in the storage section in a case where a ratio of a half-tone area to the input image data is smaller than a preset ratio.

### Claim 3 (depends on 2)

The image processing apparatus according to claim 2,
wherein the control section performs control such that the binary image data is stored in the storage section in a case where a ratio of a text area to the input image data is larger than a preset ratio.

### Claim 4 (depends on 2)

The image processing apparatus according to claim 2,
wherein the control section performs control such that the binary image data is stored in the storage section in a case where the content of the input image data is blank.

### Claim 5 (depends on 1)

The image processing apparatus according to claim 1,
wherein the control section performs control such that the multi-value image data is stored in the storage section in a case where a half-tone image is included in the input image data.

### Claim 6 (depends on 5)

The image processing apparatus according to claim 5,
wherein the control section performs control such that the multi-value image data is stored in the storage section in a case where a picture image or a graphic image is included in the input image data.

### Claim 7

An image processing apparatus comprising:
a gradation correction section that performs output gradation correction with respect to input multi-value image data;
a conversion section that converts the multi-value image data, which is acquired after the output gradation correction is performed by the gradation correction section, into binary image data;
a storage section that stores the multi-value image data or the binary image data; and
a control section that performs control such that the multi-value image data, which is acquired before the output gradation correction is performed, is stored in the storage section in a case where setting content, which is set in an output instruction from a user, indicates that content of the image data is content which requires the output gradation correction, and such that the binary image data is stored in the storage section in a case where the setting content indicates that the content of the image data is content which does not require the output gradation correction.

### Claim 8 (depends on 7)

The image processing apparatus according to claim 7,
wherein the control section performs control such that the binary image data is stored in the storage section in a case where a manuscript type, which is set in the output instruction, is a text or a drawing.

### Claim 9

A non-transitory computer readable medium storing a program causing a computer to perform a process, the process comprising:
performing output gradation correction with respect to input multi-value image data;
converting the multi-value image data, which is acquired after the output gradation correction is performed, into binary image data; and
performing control such that the multi-value image data, which is acquired before the output gradation correction is performed, is stored in a storage section in a case where content of the input image data is content which requires the output gradation correction, and such that the binary image data is stored in the storage section in a case where the content of the input image data is content which does not require the output gradation correction.
