Abstract
A reinforced substrate is used for molding a composite material. The reinforced substrate includes a first region and a second region. The first region includes reinforcing fibers extending in a fiber direction that is aligned in a single direction. The second region includes the reinforcing fibers aligned in the same direction as the fiber direction and being thinner than the first region. The first region and the second region are lined up in alternating fashion in a plane along a direction intersecting the fiber direction.
Claims20
A reinforced substrate used for molding a composite material, the reinforced substrate comprising:
- a first region including reinforcing fibers extending in a fiber direction that is aligned in a single direction;
- and
- a second region including the reinforcing fibers aligned in the same direction as the fiber direction and being thinner than the first region;
- the first region and the second region being lined up in alternating fashion in a plane along a direction intersecting the fiber direction.
A composite material comprising:
- a reinforced substrate;
- a resin disposed in a reinforced substrate;
- a first region including reinforcing fibers extending in a fiber direction that is aligned in a single direction;
- a second region including the reinforcing fibers aligned in the same direction as the fiber direction and being thinner than the first region;
- and
- a third region formed so as to overlap the second region in a thickness direction and having a higher volumetric content of the resin than does the second region,
- the first region and the second region being lined up in alternating fashion in a plane along a direction intersecting the fiber direction.
A method for manufacturing a reinforced substrate for a composite material, the method comprising:
- arranging reinforcing fibers so as to form a first region that includes the reinforcing fibers in which a fiber direction is aligned in a single direction, and a second region that includes the reinforcing fibers aligned in the same direction as the fiber direction and that is thinner than the first region;
- and
- arranging the first region and the second region so that the regions are lined up in alternating fashion in a plane along a direction intersecting the fiber direction.
