Abstract
The present disclosure relates to the use of hepcidin in therapeutic methods for the treatment of various conditions in which decreasing serum iron concentration may be beneficial.

A method for treating hemolytic anemia, hemoglobinopathy, myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS), α-thalassemia, thalassemia intermedia, β-thalassemia, hemochromatosis, sickle cell disease, refractory anemia, or G6PD deficiency in a subject, comprising administering a composition comprising hepcidin to the subject.
