Abstract
The invention provides compositions for the treatment of follicular tonsillitis and other streptococcal infections. It comprises plants extracts containing carnosic acid and optionally additional plant extracts or essential oils. Also provided is a method for treating follicular tonsillitis and other streptococcal infections with the botanical compositions, while avoiding the use of traditional antibiotics.

A composition for the treatment of follicular tonsillitis, comprising a therapeutically effective amount of carnosic acid and a carrier consisting of pharmaceutically acceptable solvents and ingredients.
