Abstract

An oral care device such as an oral care implement or a toothbrush. The oral care device may include a handle and a head. The head may have a plurality of cleaning elements extending therefrom. The head may comprise a channel and a plurality of electrodes may be located within the channel. The electrodes may be coupled to a power source. The electrodes may be used to generate a chemical agent via the application of an electrical potential across the electrodes when in communication with an electrolyte. The chemical agents may include ozone, hydrogen peroxide, peroxide, chlorine hypochlorite, ions, peroxides, and/or other chemical agents.

Dependent claims

An oral care device comprising:

a head comprising a longitudinal axis, a front surface, an opposite rear surface, and a channel defined by an inner wall;
and
a plurality of electrodes coupled to the head and positioned within the channel, the plurality of electrodes comprising:
a first electrode and a second electrode coupled to the inner wall on a first side of the longitudinal axis and spaced apart in a direction of the longitudinal axis by a first gap;
and
a third electrode coupled to the inner wall on a second side of the longitudinal axis, the third electrode extending into the first gap between the first and second electrodes.
