Patient movement is tracked and settings of a component of a radiation image recording system are adjusted so that the same relative position of the patient and the component is retained.

A method of adjusting settings of a component of a radiation image recording system for generating a radiation image of a patient, the method comprising:
- tracking movement of the patient starting from a time when a tracking triggering condition occurs;
- and
- adapting settings of the component taking into account the tracked movement of the patient so that a position of the patient relative to the component is maintained.
