Abstract
A box with a lid having first and second opposed pairs of downwardly projecting legs which partially overlie the sides of the box to close the same. The length of the first pair of downwardly projecting legs is less than the length of the second pair of downwardly projecting legs. A generally horizontal ledge is formed in each side of the box with the ledges of two opposed sides of the box located at one level below the lid and those of the other opposed sides at a different level below the lid. In use, the first and second pairs of legs can either be supported on either one or the other pair of opposed ledges to vary the height of the lid above ground level. Also, the lid can be removed from the box to define a stool or support surface.
Claims18
A box, comprising:
- a base, at least one side wall extending from the base, a lid, and a ledge in each of four side faces of the at least one side wall with the ledges of two opposite side faces located at a first distance below the lid and the ledges of the other two opposed side faces located at a lesser, second distance below the lid;
- and
- a cover, the cover having an upper surface bordered by two opposed pairs of downwardly projecting side members, a length of a first pair of the two opposed pairs of downwardly projecting side members being less than a length of a second pair of the two opposed pairs of downwardly projecting side members,
- wherein during operation, the cover can be removed from the box and employed as a support surface with lower edges of the second pair of downwardly projecting side faces defining ground engaging feet for the support surface.
A system, comprising:
- a box having a plurality of sides defining an open top of the box, wherein a ledge is in each side of plurality of sides of the box with the ledges of a first pair of opposed sides of the box located at a first position relative to the open top of the box and ledges of a second pair of opposed sides at a second, different position relative to the open top of the box;
- and
- a cover formed with first and second opposed pairs of downwardly projecting members which partially overlie the sides of the box when the cover is located over the open top of the box to close the same, the length of said first pair of downwardly projecting members being less than the length of said second pair of downwardly projecting members,
- wherein during operation, the first and second opposed pairs of downwardly projecting members can be supported on the ledges of the first pair of opposed sides of the box or the ledges of the second pair of opposed sides to vary a height of the cover relative to a bottom surface of the box.
A box, comprising:
- a base with a plurality of sides extending from the base, wherein each side of the plurality of sides includes ridges dimensioned to support downwardly extending legs of a box cover removably coupled to the base, the ridges on a first side of the box being at a different height relative to the base of the box than the ridges on a second, opposite side of the box,
- wherein during operation, the height of the cover relative to the base of the box can be changed by removing the cover from the ridges on the first side of the box, rotating the cover ninety degrees, and supporting the cover on the ridges on the second side of the box.
