Abstract
A tool (100) comprises a plurality of layers (102, 104, 106) which are arranged to provide a thermally agile tool face (110) and to protect control circuitry and delicate components (150) from excessive temperatures.
Claims20
A thermal control assembly for a mould tool comprising:
- a base portion configured to attach to a mould tool, the mould tool comprising a temperature control surface, and
- a thermal effector and/or transducer movably attached to the base portion and resiliently biased such that the thermal effector and/or transducer self-aligns upon contact with the temperature control surface of the mould tool.
A mould tool comprising:
- a first layer comprising a tool face that forms a workpiece and a temperature control surface opposite the tool face;
- a second layer;
- and
- a thermal effector and/or transducer movably attached to the second layer and resiliently biased such that the thermal effector and/or transducer projects from the second layer, such that upon assembly of the mould layer to the mould tool, the thermal effector and/or transducer contacts the temperature control surface and self-aligns.
1 more element
A mould tool comprising:
- a layer;
- and,
- a thermal effector and/or transducer movably attached to the layer and resiliently biased such that the thermal effector and/or transducer projects from the layer, such that upon assembly of a mould layer to the mould tool, the thermal effector or transducer contacts the mould layer and self-aligns.
