Abstract
A light source unit includes a plurality of light emitting devices and outputs ultraviolet light as irradiating light. A drive circuit supplies a drive current Id to the plurality of light emitting devices. A sensing unit senses a trouble in the plurality of light emitting devices. A controller controls the drive current Id in accordance with a result of sensing by the sensing unit. When an output of the light source unit is reduced due to a trouble in one or some of the plurality of light emitting devices, the controller controls the drive current Id of a plurality of light emitting devices other than the light emitting device in trouble so as to compensate reduction in the output of the light source unit.
Claims8
A ultraviolet irradiation device comprising:
- a light source unit that includes a plurality of light emitting devices and outputs ultraviolet light as irradiating light;
- a drive circuit that supplies a drive current to the plurality of light emitting devices;
- a sensing unit that senses a trouble in the plurality of light emitting devices;
- and
- a controller that controls the drive current in accordance with a result of sensing by the sensing unit, wherein
- when an output of the light source unit is reduced due to a trouble in one or some of the plurality of light emitting devices, the controller controls the drive current of a plurality of light emitting devices other than the light emitting device in trouble so as to compensate reduction in the output of the light source unit.
