Abstract
Embodiments of the present application relate to the communications field, and provide example random access methods, apparatus, and systems, so that a terminal can access a beam in time. An example solution includes receiving, by a terminal, a plurality of signals sent by a first access device on a plurality of beams. A beam of a strongest signal in the plurality of beams is determined and a preamble signal for the beam of the strongest signal is generated. The preamble signal of the beam of the strongest signal is sent to the first access device, so that the first access device identifies, based on the received preamble signal, the beam selected by the terminal to access.
Claims17
A random access method, wherein the method comprises:
- receiving, by a terminal, a plurality of signals on a plurality of beams from a first access device, wherein the plurality of beams are generated in a beamforming manner;
- determining, by the terminal, a beam of a strongest signal in the plurality of beams;
- generating, by the terminal, a preamble signal for the beam of the strongest signal based on configuration information;
- and
- sending, by the terminal, the preamble signal to the first access device.
A random access method, wherein the method comprises:
- sending, by a first access device, a plurality of signals to a terminal on a plurality of beams, wherein the plurality of beams are generated in a beamforming manner;
- receiving, by the first access device, a preamble signal of a beam of a strongest signal, wherein the preamble signal is sent by the terminal;
- and
- identifying, by the first access device based on the preamble signal, a beam on which the terminal accesses a network provided by the first access device, and establishing a radio resource control (RRC) connection to the terminal.
A terminal, wherein the terminal comprises at least one processor and a transceiver, wherein the at least one processor is configured to:
- receive a plurality of signals on a plurality of beams from a first access device by using the transceiver, wherein the plurality of beams are generated in a beamforming manner;
- determine a beam of a strongest signal in the plurality of beams;
- generate a preamble signal for the beam of the strongest signal based on configuration information;
- and
- send the preamble signal to the first access device by using the transceiver.
