A method for the wireless transmission of electronic data between a hand-held machine tool and an external unit includes automatically activating a communication unit for transmitting the electronic data as a function of a characteristic movement variable of the communication unit.

A method for transmission of electronic data between a hand-held machine tool and an external unit, comprising:
- automatically activating a communication unit to transmit the electronic data depending on a movement characteristic variable of the communication unit.
A hand-held machine tool device, comprising:
- at least one communication unit;
- and
- at least one activation unit configured to automatically activate the communication unit depending on at least one movement characteristic variable of the communication unit.
