Abstract
A video transrater, and a transrater system and method. The transrater system and method may select an optimal bit rate from among a plurality of available bit rates in order to obtain a particular video quality and/or format.

A method comprising:
- receiving, by a first device, as a plurality of frames of data, a content asset;
- determining, by the first device, that the content asset comprises, that at least one of the received frames of data comprises a plurality of null packets and a plurality of substantive packets;
- replacing, by the first device, in the at least one of the received frames of data, at least one of the plurality of null packets with at least one reconstructed content packet;
- and
- causing, by the first device, display of content corresponding to the content asset comprising the at least one reconstructed content packet.

A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing instructions that, when executed, cause an apparatus to:
- receive, as a plurality of frames of data, a content asset;
- determine that at least one of the received frames of data comprises a plurality of null packets and a plurality of substantive packets;
- replace, in the at least one of the received frames of data, at least one of the plurality of null packets with at least one reconstructed content packet;
- and
- cause display of content corresponding to the content asset comprising the at least one reconstructed content packet.

- memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the apparatus to:
- receive, as a plurality of frames of data, a content asset;

- replace, in the at least one of the received frames of data, at least one of the plurality of null packets with at least one reconstructed content packet;

- cause display of content corresponding to the content asset comprising the at least one reconstructed content packet;

- a second apparatus comprising:
- one or more second processors;
- and
- second memory storing second instructions that, when executed by the one or more second processors, cause the second apparatus to:
- send the plurality of frames of data.
