Video file processing method and apparatus

A video file processing apparatus, comprising:

• processing circuitry configured to:
• detect a device type of a first virtual reality (VR) device, the first VR device being configured to display a target video to be recorded;
• detect an application on the first VR device based on the device type of the first VR device;
• obtain video data of the target video from the application on the first VR device;
• code the video data to generate a recorded video file of the target video, video content of the recorded video file being the same as video content of the target video;
• and
• identify a video playback terminal device compatible with the first VR device, and play the recorded video file of the target video through the video playback terminal device.

A non-transitory computer readable storage medium storing instructions which when executed by at least one processor cause the at least one processor to perform:

• detecting a device type of a first virtual reality (VR) device, the first VR device being configured to display a target video to be recorded;
• detecting an application on the first VR device based on the device type of the first VR device;
• obtaining video data of the target video from the application on the first VR device;
• coding the video data to generate a recorded video file of the target video, video content of the recorded video file being the same as video content of the target video;
• and
• identifying a video playback terminal device compatible with the first VR device, and playing the recorded video file of the target video through the video playback terminal device.
