Abstract
A device including an equalizer that includes a first input configured to receive an input signal, a second input configured to receive a reference signal, and a third input configured to receive an adjustment signal. The equalizer also includes a first output configured to transmit a corrected signal, wherein the corrected signal is generated based on data outputs controlled via the input signal, the reference signal, and a clock signal, wherein the data outputs are modified based on the first adjustment signal, wherein corrected signal offsets inter-symbol interference on the input signal based on a data bit received at the first input prior to reception of the input signal.
Claims20
A device, comprising:
- a channel;
- and
- an equalizer configured to be directly coupled to the channel, wherein the equalizer comprises:
- a first input directly coupled to the channel, wherein the first input is configured to receive an input signal from the channel;
- a second input configured to receive a reference signal;
- a third input configured to receive an adjustment signal;
- and
- a first output configured to transmit a corrected signal, wherein the corrected signal is generated based on data outputs controlled via the input signal, the reference signal, and a clock signal, wherein the data outputs are modified based on the adjustment signal, wherein corrected signal offsets inter-symbol interference on the input signal based on a data bit received at the first input from the channel prior to reception of the input signal.
A device, comprising:
- a deserializer, comprising:
- a first input;
- a first output configured to output a first signal;
- and
- a distortion correction circuit coupled to the deserializer and configured to be directly coupled to a channel, wherein the distortion correction circuit comprises:
- a second input configured to receive an input signal directly from the channel;
- a third input configured to receive a reference signal;
- a fourth input coupled to the first output, wherein the fourth input is configured to receive a first adjustment signal based at least in part on the first signal;
- and
- a second output coupled to the first input of the deserializer, wherein the third output is configured to output a corrected signal generated based on the input signal, the reference signal, and the first adjustment signal.
A method, comprising:
- outputting a first adjustment signal along a first data channel;
- outputting a second adjustment signal along a second data channel;
- and
- receiving a first corrected signal along a third data channel, wherein the first corrected signal is generated based in part on a data bit signal and the first adjustment signal, wherein the first corrected signal is selected based on a logical state of the second adjustment signal.
