Abstract
A wavelength converting layer may have a glass or a silicon porous support structure. The wavelength converting layer may also have a cured portion of wavelength converting particles and a binder filling the porous glass or silicon support structure.
Claims20
A wavelength converting layer comprising:
- a porous support structure comprising at least one of a glass, a silicone or a quartz;
- and
- a cured portion of wavelength converting particles and a binder filling the porous support structure.
An LED device comprising:
- an active layer;
- and
- a wavelength converting layer configured to convert the wavelength of a first light emitted from the active layer and to emit a second light, the wavelength converting layer comprising:
- a porous support structure comprising at least one of a glass, a silicone or a quartz;
- and
- a cured portion of wavelength converting particles and a binder filling the porous support structure.
3 more elements
A method of preparing a wavelength converting layer, the method comprising:
- producing a first phosphor film with first color point;
- producing a second phosphor film with second color point;
- and
- laminating the first and the second phosphor films onto a porous component for a predetermined color point.
