Abstract
A virtual-barrier system that defines a keep-out-zone for vehicles to avoid includes a transmitter, a location-detector, and a controller. The transmitter is configured to broadcast information regarding a keep-out-zone. The location-detector is configured to indicate a location of the transmitter. The controller is in communication with the transmitter and the location-detector. The controller is configured to determine boundaries of the keep-out-zone in accordance with the location, and operate the transmitter to broadcast coordinates of the boundaries of the keep-out-zone.
Claims16
A method comprising:
- determining a position of one or more safety-markers;
- defining boundaries of an area of a keep-out-zone in accordance with the position of the one or more safety-markers, the keep-out-zone defining an area where automated vehicles are to avoid operating;
- and
- broadcasting data based on the boundaries of the keep-out-zone.
A system comprising:
- one or more safety-markers;
- one or more location-detectors configured to determine a position of the one or more safety-markers;
- a controller-circuit in communication with one or more of the location-detectors, the controller-circuit configured to define boundaries of an area of a keep-out-zone in accordance with the position of the one or more safety-markers, the keep-out-zone defining an area where automated vehicles are to avoid operating;
- and
- a transmitter in communication with the controller, the transmitter configured to broadcast data based on the boundaries of the keep-out-zone.
A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium comprising one or more programs for execution by one or more processors, the one or more programs including instructions for:
- determining a position of one or more safety-markers;
- defining boundaries of an area of a keep-out-zone in accordance with the position of the one or more safety-markers, the keep-out-zone defining an area where automated vehicles are to avoid operating;
- and
- broadcasting data based on the boundaries of the keep-out-zone.
