Abstract
An integrated security system that includes a security coprocessor coupled to a conventional security system panel and an interactive security system. The integrated security system enables conventional security system features as well as the consumer-oriented interactive features and functions of an interactive security system without sacrificing reliability or the significant burden and cost associated with frequent software updates associated with conventional security systems. The integrated security system also minimizes or eliminates the need for new battery backup circuitry or larger batteries.
Claims20
A method comprising:
- determining failure of a premises power supply, wherein the premises power supply is configured to output power to at least one of a security system device or a premises device,
- wherein the at least one of the security system device or the premises device is configured to receive power from a back-up power supply based on the failure of the premises power supply;
- and
- causing, based at least on a duration of the failure of the premises power supply, disablement of at least one feature of the premises device.
A method comprising:
- determining failure of a premises power supply, wherein the premises power supply is configured to output power to at least one premises device,
- wherein the at least one premises device is configured to receive power from a back-up power supply based on the failure of the premises power supply;
- determining a priority of a premises device of the at least one premises device;
- and
- causing, based at least on a duration of the failure of the premises power supply and the priority of the premises device, disablement of the premises device.
A method comprising:
- determining failure of a premises power supply, wherein the premises power supply is configured to output power to at least one of a security system device or a premises device,
- wherein the at least one of the security system device or the premises device is configured to receive power from a back-up power supply based on the failure of the premises power supply;
- and
- modifying, based at least on a duration of the failure of the premises power supply, at least one feature of the premises device.
