Abstract
A system for determining that a monitored person has experienced an event wherein the event is detrimental to the monitored person. The system comprises a first sensing component for producing a first sensed parameter value representative of a first sensed condition of the monitored person and a second sensing component activated responsive to the first sensed parameter value for producing a second sensed parameter value representative of a second sensed condition. A detecting component receives the first and second sensed parameter values for determining that the monitored person has experienced the event.
Claims40
A system for determining that a monitored person has experienced an event wherein the event is detrimental to the monitored person, the system comprising:
- a first sensing component for producing a first sensed parameter value representative of a first sensed condition of the monitored person;
- a second sensing component activated responsive to the first sensed parameter value for producing a second sensed parameter value representative of a second sensed condition
- a detecting component responsive to the first and second sensed parameter values for determining that the monitored person has experienced the event.
A system for determining that a monitored person has fallen, the system comprising:
- a sensing component for producing a sensed parameter value representative of a current sensed condition of the monitored person;
- and
- an analysis component for analyzing the sensed parameter value relative to prior sensed parameter values or analyzed relative to statistical values based on the prior sensed parameter values, for use in determining whether the monitored person has fallen.
A system for determining that a monitored person. has fallen, the system comprising:
- a plurality of sensing components each for producing a sensed parameter value representative of a current condition of the monitored person;
- an analysis component for analyzing the plurality of sensed parameter values for use in determining whether the monitored person has fallen;
- wherein the analysis component providing a tentative fall detection determination responsive to one of the plurality of sensing components producing a parameter value indicative of a fall, and the analysis component providing a final fault detection determination responsive to two of the plurality of sensing components producing a parameter value indicative of a fall;
- and
- the system further comprising an alert issuing component for issuing an alert responsive to the final fault detection determination.
