Adaptive system and method for automatic tracking of at least one target in at least one video stream

An adaptive system for automatic tracking of a target in at least one video stream, comprising:

• at least one dynamically configurable tracking device, receiving said at least one video stream, adapted for detection and automatic tracking of at least one target by analysis of said at least one video stream,
• a calculator to determine at least one metric performance value from a target tracking result provided by said at least one tracking device,
• a corrector of at least one configuration parameter of said least one tracking device as a function of said at least one metric performance value, and
• at least one dynamic configurator of said at least one tracking device by application of said at least one corrected configuration parameter,
• at least one supplementary reference tracking device, receiving at least one portion of said at least one video stream, wherein the calculator is adapted to calculate said at least one metric performance value based on a comparison on said at least one video stream portion, of the target tracking result supplied by said at least one tracking device and a reference tracking result supplied by said at least one supplementary reference tracking device.
