Abstract
A fingerprint recognition system may comprise: a display panel configured to display an image on a screen; a light source device configured to irradiate light onto a transparent substrate disposed on the screen of the display panel; an image sensor configured to obtain a fingerprint image with light reflected from a fingerprint contacting the transparent substrate on the screen; and an image sensor controller configured to control an exposure time of the image sensor to obtain the fingerprint image based on a contrast ratio of the fingerprint image.

A fingerprint recognition system comprising:
- a display panel configured to display an image on a screen;
- a light source device configured to irradiate light onto a transparent substrate disposed on the screen of the display panel;
- an image sensor configured to obtain a fingerprint image with light reflected from a fingerprint contacting the transparent substrate on the screen;
- and
- an image sensor controller configured to control an exposure time of the image sensor to obtain the fingerprint image based on a contrast ratio of the fingerprint image.
A method for sensing a fingerprint using a fingerprint recognition display device including an image sensor, the method comprising:
- obtaining a fingerprint image with light reflected from a fingerprint contacting the fingerprint recognition display device;
- and
- controlling an exposure time of the image sensor to obtain the fingerprint image based on a contrast ratio of the fingerprint image.
A method for sensing a fingerprint using a fingerprint recognition display device, the method comprising:
- sensing a plurality of fingerprints on the fingerprint recognition display device using a plurality of different exposure times;
- selecting a fingerprint from the sensed fingerprints that has a highest contrast from among the plurality of fingerprints;
- comparing the selected fingerprint with a previously stored fingerprint;
- and
- allowing access to the fingerprint recognition display device responsive to the selected fingerprint matching the previously stored fingerprint.
