Vehicle durability modeling

A non-transitory computer readable medium comprising instructions that, when executed by one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to:

• access information indicative of roughness for each of a set of real-world roadways representative of a target environment for operation of a vehicle;
• access information indicative of a number of vehicles that traverse at least some of the set of roadways, the number of vehicles representative of a usage pattern for the vehicle;
• build a model, based on the information indicative of roughness and the information indicative of a number of vehicles, the model operable to generate a superset of simulated roadways that correspond to the roughness of the set of roadways;
• generate, via the model, the superset of simulated roadways that correspond to the roughness of the set of real-world roadways;
• and
• determine one or more stresses imparted to a simulated vehicle component of the vehicle including applying at least some of the superset of simulated roadways to the simulated vehicle component of the vehicle.

A device for generating a simulated test track for a vehicle, comprising:

• a processor configured to:
• access information indicative of a roughness for each of a set of real-world roadways representative of a target environment for operation of a vehicle;
• access information indicative of a number of vehicles that traverse at least some of the set of roadways, the number of vehicles representative of a usage pattern for the vehicle;
• build a model, based on the information indicative of roughness and the information indicative of a number of vehicles, the model operable to generate a superset of simulated roadways that correspond to the roughness of the set of roadways;
• generate, via the model, the superset of simulated roadways that correspond to the roughness of the set of real-world roadways;
• and
• determine one or more stresses imparted to a simulated vehicle component of the vehicle including applying at least some of the superset of simulated roadways to the simulated vehicle component of the vehicle.
