Abstract
A display device apparatus provides an increased color reproduction rate and/or contrast ratio. The display device includes a first substrate; a second substrate disposed on the first substrate; and a liquid crystal layer arranged between the first substrate and the second substrate. A reflective layer is disposed on the first substrate, a polarizing layer is disposed on one surface of the second substrate, and a metasurface pattern layer is disposed on the second substrate. The metasurface pattern layer includes a third substrate and a first metasurface pattern disposed on the third substrate.
Claims26
A display device comprising:
- a first substrate;
- a second substrate disposed on the first substrate;
- a liquid crystal layer disposed between the first substrate and the second substrate;
- a reflective layer disposed on the first substrate;
- a polarizing layer disposed on one surface of the second substrate;
- and
- a metasurface pattern layer disposed on the second substrate,
- wherein the metasurface pattern layer comprises:
- a third substrate and a first metasurface pattern disposed on the third substrate.
A display device comprising:
- a first substrate;
- a second substrate disposed on the first substrate;
- a liquid crystal layer interposed between the first substrate and the second substrate;
- a reflective layer disposed on the first substrate;
- a first metasurface pattern disposed on one surface of the second substrate;
- and
- a polarizing layer disposed on another surface of the second substrate.
A display device comprising:
- a first substrate;
- a second substrate disposed on the first substrate;
- a liquid crystal layer disposed between the first substrate and the second substrate;
- a reflective layer disposed on the first substrate;
- a polarizing layer disposed on one surface of the second substrate;
- and
- a metasurface pattern layer disposed on the second substrate,
- wherein the metasurface pattern layer comprises:
- a third substrate and a first metasurface pattern disposed on the third substrate,
- wherein the first metasurface pattern is configured to negatively refract a light from an external source obliquely incident on a display surface of the display device to be incident substantially perpendicular to a surface of the reflective layer.
