A polarizer comprising:
- a first polarizing layer configured for polarizing light, the first polarizing layer having a first absorption axis;
- wherein the first absorption axis is a curved line.
An LCD device, comprising:
- a display panel having a first and a second opposite sides;
- a upper polarizer on the first side of the display panel;
- and
- a lower polarizer on the second side of the display panel, opposite to the upper polarizer;
- wherein at least one of the upper polarizer and the lower polarizer comprises a first polarizing layer;
- the first polarizing layer has a first absorption axis;
- the first absorption axis is a curved line.
