Abstract
A foam-based expansion joint seal system packaging which facilitates transport and reduces the need for internal splices.
Claims19
An expansion joint seal system, comprising:
- a longitudinal body of foam in compression, the longitudinal body of foam in compression having one of a precut segment and a marked segment, the precut segment including a first cut and a second cut from a foam top to a foam bottom, the first cut, the second cut and a foam side defining a partial triangle, the marked segment including a first mark and a second mark on a foam top and a third mark and a fourth mark on the foam side defining a triangular prism:
- a water-resistant constituent, the water-resistant constituent adhered to the longitudinal body of foam on a first surface or contained within the longitudinal body of foam in compression;
- and a casing in tension helically compressively encircling the longitudinal body of foam in compression and the water-resistant constituent.
An expansion joint seal system, comprising:
- a longitudinal body of foam in compression, the longitudinal body of foam in compression having one of a precut segment and a marked segment, the precut segment including a first cut and a second cut from near a foam top to near a foam bottom, the first cut, the second cut and a foam side defining a partial triangle, the marked segment including a first mark and a second mark on a foam top and a third mark and a fourth mark on the foam side defining a triangular prism;
- a water-resistant constituent, the water-resistant constituent adhered to the longitudinal body of foam on a first surface or contained within the longitudinal body of foam in compression;
- and a casing in tension helically compressively encircling the longitudinal body of foam in compression and the water-resistant constituent.
