Abstract
Biodegradable, cross-linked polymer films and methods of making the same are described. The polymer films can be used for preventing adhesions following surgery and/or delivering therapeutic agents.

A polymer system comprising:
- a package;
- and
- a polymer film including at least one acrylate, acrylamide, methacrylate, or methacrylamide monomer and at least one biodegradable crosslinker;
- wherein the polymer film has a thickness of less than about 1,500 μm.

A method of making a polymer film comprising:
- reacting between two places separated by a space a prepolymer solution including at least one acrylate, acrylamide, methacrylate, or methacrylamide monomer including at least one functional group and at least one biodegradable crosslinker;
- and
- forming the polymer film, wherein the polymer film has a thickness of less than about 1,500 μm.
