## Claims

### Claim 1

A computer implemented method for presenting an offer to a customer comprising:
accessing customer account data, vendor data, and award data at a discount program database;
providing a discount program viewer application via a first website on a first server to the customer viewing a product or a service at the first website to present the offer;
formulating, at the first server, a customer identifier uniquely identifying the customer and updating the discount program database with the customer identifier;
generating a customer data record in the discount program database, and associating the customer data record with the customer identifier;
receiving existing purchase data identifying a purchase transaction made by the customer, wherein the purchase transaction includes a purchase amount;
transmitting the customer account data, the customer identifier, and the existing purchase data to a discount program processing engine operating on a second server;
monitoring, using at least one processor of the second server, the customer's purchase activity to identify new purchase activity for the customer;
identifying new purchase activity for the customer and extracting data from the new purchase activity via the at least one processor of the second server to identify a new purchase amount and associating the extracted data including the new purchase amount with the customer identifier;
transmitting the extracted data and associated customer identifier to the first server to calculate a total amount based on the purchase amount and the new purchase amount;
determining an award to present to the customer as the offer based on the total amount;
updating the customer data record in the discount program database with an alphanumeric coding comprising a first alphanumeric string indicating an award type corresponding to the award, and a second alphanumeric string indicating a value for the award; and
presenting the award to the customer during the new purchase activity via a display.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the award is selected from the group consisting of a product, a service, a monetary award, and an account status level.

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein determining the award to present to the customer is further based on at least one rule.

### Claim 4 (depends on 3)

The method of claim 3, wherein extracting data from the new purchase activity further comprises:
identifying a participating vendor in the new purchase activity; and
wherein applying the one rule adjusts the total amount by a percentage based on spending activity with the participating vendor.

### Claim 5 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, further comprising:
verifying that the customer has authorized tracking of the customer's purchase activity; and
upon verifying that the customer authorized tracking of the customer's purchase activity, formulating, at the first server, the customer identifier.

### Claim 6 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, further comprising:
filtering the customer account data and the existing purchase data at the discount processing engine to obtain credit card transaction data associated with the customer.

### Claim 7 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the award is based on the total amount spent by the customer at a vendor over a predetermined amount of time.

### Claim 8 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the award is based on a number of transactions performed by the customer at a vendor over a predetermined amount of time.

### Claim 9 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the award is based on the total amount spent by the customer at a set of vendors over a predetermined amount of time.

### Claim 10 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, further comprising:
calculating an amount equal to a pre-determined percentage of the total amount; and
incrementing the value for the award by the calculated amount.

### Claim 11

A system for tracking a customer's purchase activity to present an offer to the customer, the system comprising:
a storage device configured to store data and instructions thereon, wherein the storage device includes a discount program database including customer account data, vendor account data and data associated with awards to offer to the customer; and
at least one computer processor in communication with the storage device for accessing the data and the instructions over a network, wherein the at least one computer processor is configured to execute the instructions to perform steps including:
providing a discount program viewer application via a first website on a first server to the customer viewing a product or a service at the first website to present the offer;
formulating, at the first server, a customer identifier uniquely identifying the customer and updating the discount program database with the customer identifier;
generating a customer data record in the discount program database and associating the customer data record with the customer identifier;
receiving existing purchase data identifying a purchase transaction made by the customer, wherein the purchase transaction includes a purchase amount;
transmitting the customer account data, the customer identifier, and the existing purchase data to a discount program processing engine operating on a second server;
monitoring, using at least one processor of the second server, the customer's purchase activity to identify new purchase activity for the customer;
identifying new purchase activity for the customer and extracting data from the new purchase activity via the at least one processor of the second server to identify a new purchase amount and associating the extracted data including the new purchase amount with the customer identifier;
transmitting the extracted data and associated customer identifier to the first server to calculate a total amount based on the purchase amount and the new purchase amount;
determining an award to present as the offer to the customer based on the total amount;
updating the customer data record in the discount program database with an alphanumeric coding comprising a first alphanumeric string indicating an award type corresponding to the award, and a second alphanumeric string indicating a value for the award; and
