Abstract
In processing using a print data processing apparatus that parallelly interprets pages of print data, in the case where a command to reset the number of already interpreted pages is included in the print data, a certain page to be printed is not printed. In the case of detecting a command to invalidate contents interpreted hitherto, an interpreter stores the number of already interpreted pages at the time in point of the detection of the invalidation command in a cache. Then, the interpreter generates intermediate data in the case where the sum of the cached value and the number of already interpreted pages managed by the interpreter coincides with a processing-target page number.

An image processing apparatus comprising:
- at least one controller having a processor that executes programs stored in a memory or a circuitry having functions implemented therein, the at least one controller configured to function as:
- a receiving unit configured to receive page description language (PDL) data indicating print data including one or more pages;
- a plurality of interpreters, wherein each of the plurality of interpreters interprets the PDL data and generates intermediate data based on the PDL data;
- and
- a notification unit configured to notify an interpreter of the plurality of interpreters of a page number of which intermediate data is to be generated by the interpreter,
- wherein:
- an interpreter of the plurality of interpreters updates a page count value along with progress of interpretation of the PDL data;
- resets the page count value in a case where a predetermined reset command is detected in the PDL data;
- specifies a target page based on a current page count value after the reset, a page count value before the reset, and the page number notified by the notification unit;
- and
- generates intermediate data of the specified target page.
A control method of an image processing apparatus including a plurality of interpreters, wherein each of the plurality of interpreters interprets page description language (PDL) data and generates intermediate data based on the PDL data, the control method comprising:
- receiving PDL data indicating print data including one or more pages;
- notifying an interpreter of the plurality of interpreters of a page number of which intermediate data is to be generated by the interpreter;
- updating, by an interpreter of the plurality of interpreters, a page count value along with progress of interpretation of the PDL data;
- resetting, by the interpreter, the page count value in a case where a predetermined reset command is detected in the PDL data;
- specifying, by the interpreter, a target page based on a current page count value after the reset, a page count value before the reset, and the page number notified by the notifying;
- and
- generating, by the interpreter, intermediate data of the specified target page.
