Wireless-enabled interchangeable locking core

A wireless, electronic locking core, comprising:

• an external handle;
• a lock core that is:
• rotatable via the external handle from a locked position to an unlocked position when in a released state, and
• prevented from rotating from the locked position to an unlocked position when in a secured state;
• an electronic controller to:
• receive, via a wireless receiver, authorization credentials from a physically separate mobile device, and
• detect a pattern of physical input interactions made via an electronic sensor;
• and
• determine a release authorization based on at least one of:
• validation of the authorization credentials, and
• validation of the pattern of physical inputs;
• and
• transition the locking core from the secured state to the released state based on the determined release authorization.

A wireless, electronic locking core, comprising:

• an external handle;
• a lock core that is:
• engaged with the external handle in an engaged state, such that the locking core rotates from a locked position to an unlocked position as the external handle is moved, and
• disengaged from the external handle in a disengaged state, such that movement of the external handle does not rotate the locking core from the locked position to the unlocked position;
• an electronic controller to:
• receive, via a wireless receiver, authorization credentials from a physically separate mobile device, and
• detect a pattern of physical input interactions made via an electronic sensor;
• determine an authorization to engage based on at least one of:
• validation of the authorization credentials, and
• validation of the pattern of physical inputs;
• and
• transition the locking core from the disengaged state to the engaged state based on the determined authorization to engage.
