## Abstract

An accessory for an electric drill is disclosed as including a dust box for receiving abraded materials produced by an electric drill on a workpiece, the dust box including an internal cavity, a first longitudinal end with a first opening communicating with the internal cavity, an opposite second longitudinal end with a second opening communicating with the internal cavity, and a brush or a disc. When a drill bit of the electric drill is received into the internal cavity of the dust box through the second opening, the brush or disc is releasably engageable with the drill bit for simultaneous rotational movement about a longitudinal axis of the drill bit.

## Claims

### Claim 1

An accessory for an electric power tool, said accessory including:
a housing for receiving abraded materials produced by an electric power tool on a workpiece,
wherein said housing includes an internal cavity, a first longitudinal end with a first opening communicating with said internal cavity, an opposite second longitudinal end with a second opening communicating with said internal cavity, and at least one movable member comprising a plurality of bristles, and
wherein when a utility part of said electric power tool is received within said internal cavity through said second opening, said movable member is releasably engageable with said utility part of said electric power tool for substantially simultaneous rotational movement about a longitudinal axis of said utility part.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

An accessory according to claim 1 wherein said movable member includes a hole for releasable engagement with said utility part of said electric power tool.

### Claim 3 (depends on 2)

An accessory according to claim 2 wherein said hole of said movable member is frictionally engageable with said utility part of said electric power tool.

### Claim 4 (depends on 1)

An accessory according to claim 1 wherein, during substantially simultaneous rotational movement of said movable member and said utility part of said electric power tool, said movable member allows axial movement of said utility part of said electric power tool relative to said movable member.

### Claim 5 (depends on 1)

An accessory according to claim 1 wherein said movable member is within a mounting frame in said housing, and wherein said movable member is freely movable between said mounting frame and said first longitudinal end of said housing.

### Claim 6 (depends on 1)

An accessory according to claim 1 wherein said housing includes exhaust opening for connection with a suction source.

### Claim 7 (depends on 1)

An accessory according to claim 1 wherein said first opening and second opening of said housing are co-axial with each other.

### Claim 8 (depends on 7)

An accessory according to claim 7 wherein, when said utility part of said electric power tool is received within said internal cavity, said first opening and said second opening of said housing are co-axial with said longitudinal axis of said utility part.

### Claim 9 (depends on 1)

An accessory according to claim 1 further including means for releasably engaging said accessory with said electric power tool.

### Claim 10 (depends on 9)

An accessory according to claim 9 wherein said engaging means includes an annular member releasably engageable with said electric power tool to substantially align said utility part of said electric power tool with said first opening and second opening of said housing.

### Claim 11 (depends on 10)

An accessory according to claim 10 further including a collar releasably engageable with said annular member for reducing the internal diameter of said annular member.

### Claim 12 (depends on 1)

An accessory according to claim 1 wherein said housing is generally cylindrical in shape.

### Claim 13 (depends on 1)

An accessory according to claim 1 wherein said housing is of a transverse cross section of a cut-circle shape.

### Claim 14 (depends on 9)

An accessory according claim 9 wherein said engaging means is movable relative to said housing to vary the length of said utility part of said electric power tool extending out of said housing through said first opening of said housing.

### Claim 15 (depends on 14)

An accessory according to claim 14 wherein said engaging means is movable relative to said housing along a rail member.

### Claim 16 (depends on 14)

An accessory according to claim 14 further including a handle movable simultaneously with said engaging means.

### Claim 17 (depends on 16)

An accessory according to claim 16 wherein said handle is pivotable relative to said engaging means about an axis parallel to a longitudinal axis of said housing.

### Claim 18 (depends on 16)

An accessory according to claim 16 wherein said engaging means and said handle are releasably engaged with said rail member.

### Claim 19

An accessory for an electric power tool, said accessory including:
a housing for receiving abraded materials produced by an electric power tool on a workpiece, and
means for releasably engaging said accessory with said electric power tool,
wherein said engaging means is movable relative to said housing along a rail member including a channel for releasably receiving a plastic anchor, and
wherein said accessory further includes means for setting the maximum distance through which said engaging means is movable relative to said housing.

### Claim 20 (depends on 19)

An accessory according to claim 19 wherein said engaging means is movable relative to said housing between a first position on said rail member and a second position on said rail member, wherein the distance between said housing and said first position is longer than the distance between said housing and said second position, and wherein said engaging means is biased towards said first position.

### Claim 21 (depends on 20)

An accessory according to claim 20 further including a stopper selectively positionable along said rail member to set said second position.

### Claim 22 (depends on 20)

An accessory according to claim 20 wherein a length of said elongate member is the distance between said first position and said second position.

### Claim 23 (depends on 20)

An accessory according to claim 20 further including means for selectively adjusting said first position.

### Claim 24

An accessory for an electric power tool with a utility part, said accessory including:
