## Abstract

This invention relates to methods and formulations for treating metabolic disorders and depression. In some embodiments, the methods comprise administering a dopamine receptor agonist and an anti-depressant.

## Claims

### Claim at position 1

1-16. (canceled)

### Claim 17

A dosage form for administration to patients suffering from obesity or cardiovascular disease and suffering from depression comprising a first active agent and a second active agent, wherein said first active agent is a serotonin enhancing agent, said second active agent is a dopamine agonist, said first active agent is substantially released within 2 hours following administration of said dosage form and said second active agent is released substantially within the period within 2 hours of waking when said dosage is administered at bedtime.

### Claim 18 (depends on 17)

The dosage form of claim 17 wherein the first active agent comprises an antidepressant.

### Claim 19 (depends on 17)

The dosage form of claim 17 wherein the dopamine agonist is an ergot related dopamine D2 agonist.

### Claim 20 (depends on 17)

The dosage form of claim 17 wherein the dopamine agonist is an ergot related dopamine D2 agonist.

### Claim 21 (depends on 17)

The dosage form of claim 17 wherein the dopamine agonist is a DI dopamine agonist.

### Claim 22 (depends on 17)

The dosage form of claim 17 wherein the dopamine agonist is a D2 dopamine agonist.

### Claim 23 (depends on 21)

The dosage form of claim 21 wherein the DI dopamine agonist is SKF 38393.

### Claim 24 (depends on 21)

The dosage form of claim 21 wherein the DI dopamine agonist is apomorphine.

### Claim 25 (depends on 17)

The dosage form of claim 17 wherein the first active agent is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor.

### Claim 26 (depends on 17)

The dosage form of claim 17 wherein the selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor is fluoxetine.

### Claim 27 (depends on 22)

The dosage form of claim 22 wherein the D2 dopamine agonist is bromocriptine.

### Claim 28

The method of treating a patient suffering from depression and at least one of obesity or cardiovascular disease which comprises administering to the patient a dosage form comprising a first active agent and a second active agent, wherein said first active agent is a serotonin enhancing agent, said second active agent is a dopamine agonist, said first active agent is substantially released within 2 hours following administration of said dosage form and said second active agent is released substantially within the period within 2 hours of waking when said dosage is administered at bedtime.

### Claim 29 (depends on 28)

The method of claim 28 wherein the dopamine agonist is a D1 dopamine agonist.

### Claim 30 (depends on 28)

The method of claim 28 wherein the dopamine agonist is a D2 dopamine agonist.

### Claim 31 (depends on 30)

The method of claim 30 wherein the D2 dopamine agonist comprises bromocriptine.

### Claim 32 (depends on 29)

The method of claim 29 wherein the D1 dopamine agonist is SKF38393.

### Claim 33 (depends on 29)

The method of claim 29 wherein the D1 dopamine agonist is apomorphine.

### Claim 34 (depends on 28)

The method of claim 28 wherein the serotonin enhancing agent is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor.
