## Abstract

Producing a feed additive composition for ruminants having a particle size of not less than 0.5 mm and not more than 2 mm, by granulating, in water, a molten mixture containing (A) at least one component selected from a hydrogenated vegetable oil and a hydrogenated animal oil each having a melting point of higher than 50° C. and lower than 90° C., (B) lecithin, and (C) at least one biologically active substance having solubility of not less than 0.001 g and not more than 60 g in 100 g of water at 20° C. affords a feed additive composition provided with high protection in rumen, and which is superior in dissolution in the lower gastrointestinal tract.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A method for producing a feed additive composition for ruminants having a particle size of not less than 0.5 mm and not more than 2 mm, comprising
granulating, in water, a molten mixture comprising:
(A) at least one component selected from the group consisting of a hydrogenated vegetable oil and a hydrogenated animal oil each having a melting point of higher than 50° C. and lower than 90° C.;
(B) lecithin; and
(C) at least one biologically active substance having a solubility of not less than 0.001 g and not more than 60 g in 100 g of water at 20° C.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The production method according to claim 1, wherein said solubility of said at least one biologically active substance in 100 g of water at 20° C. is not less than 0.01 g and not more than 20 g.

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

The production method according to claim 1, wherein said at least one biologically active substance is present in said feed additive composition for ruminants in an amount of not less than 0.5 wt % and not more than 70 wt %, based on the total weight of said feed additive composition.

### Claim 4 (depends on 2)

The production method according to claim 2, wherein said at least one biologically active substance is present in said feed additive composition for ruminants in an amount of not less than 0.5 wt % and not more than 70 wt %, based on the total weight of said feed additive composition.

### Claim 5 (depends on 1)

The production method according to claim 1, wherein said lecithin is present in said feed additive composition for ruminants in an amount of not less than 0.05 wt % and not more than 6 wt %, based on the total weight of said feed additive composition.

### Claim 6 (depends on 2)

The production method according to claim 2, wherein said lecithin is present in said feed additive composition for ruminants in an amount of not less than 0.05 wt % and not more than 6 wt %, based on the total weight of said feed additive composition.

### Claim 7 (depends on 1)

The production method according to claim 1, wherein said molten mixture is granulated in water by immersing said molten mixture in water.

### Claim 8 (depends on 1)

The production method according to claim 1, wherein said at least one biologically active substance is at least one member selected from the group consisting of an amino acid, a salt of an amino acid, and a vitamin.

### Claim 9 (depends on 1)

The production method according to claim 1, further comprising
pulverizing the granule of the molten mixture.

### Claim 10

A feed additive composition for ruminants having a particle size of not less than 0.5 mm and not more than 2 mm, and comprising an underwater granule comprising”
