## Abstract

An automated outdoor modular vertical plant cultivation system forming a vertical structure is provided. The system includes a plurality of shelves, each shelf having a web and flanges; two posts, each post having a web and flanges. Each shelf of the plurality of shelves is mounted between the two posts with incremental spacing between each adjacent shelf along a vertical length of the two posts. The web of each shelf includes a plurality of openings for retaining planter vessels. The flanges of each shelf retain an embedded structural member. The system includes a fluid circulatory system including shelf irrigation piping extending longitudinally above the web of each shelf; and power or power and data and fluid members for the system distributed from vertical risers located in proximity to the web of the posts, wherein the flanges of the shelves have provisions to retain the fluid circulatory system.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A modular vertical plant cultivation system comprising:
at least one planter shelf coupled to two posts with a shelf bracket, the at least one planter shelf having a web with at least one opening that retains a planter vessel and at least one post having an enclosed chase with access to its interior space through an access panel; and
fluid or fluid and power circulation devices mounted in or on at least one post to flow fluid or fluid and power from the interior of at least one post to the plant vessel and electrical devices in and on the planter shelf.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The system of claim 1, further comprising a continuous fluid pipe or continuous pipe and lighting source mounted onto the planter shelf.

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

The system of claim 1, further comprising a high tensile strength reinforcement member is embedded inside or on planter shelf flanges.

### Claim 4 (depends on 1)

The system of claim 1, wherein the planter shelf bracket mounting height is adjustable.

### Claim 5 (depends on 1)

The system of claim 1, wherein the plant cultivation system assembly in part or in whole is made of non-metallic material.

### Claim 6 (depends on 1)

The system of claim 1, further comprising at least one photovoltaic device, IoT device, or photovoltaic device and IoT device are installed on and in the plant cultivation system.

### Claim 7 (depends on 1)

The system of claim 1, further comprising an enclosure at a top of the planter shelf to retain a shading device or store power generated by a photovoltaic panel.

### Claim 8 (depends on 1)

The system of claim 1, wherein the post fluid or fluid and power devices are enclosed in a chase with an operable access panel.

### Claim 9 (depends on 1)

The system of claim 1, further comprising at least one electric device, mechanical device, irrigation device, or combinations thereof is mounted to a tray, wherein the tray is assembled and mounted inside the chase prior to arrival at an installed location.

### Claim 10 (depends on 1)

The system of claim 1 wherein at least one post with a chase retains back to back shelves with or without a partition wall in between.

### Claim 11

A modular vertical plant cultivation system comprising:
at least one planter shelf coupled to two posts with a shelf bracket, each post having at least one flange and the planter shelf comprising a web having at least one opening that retains a planter vessel, wherein the post includes an enclosed chase with access to the interior space by an access panel, and
interlocking panels placed on one another and wedged between the post flanges to form a wall alongside the planter shelf.

### Claim 12 (depends on 11)

The system of claim 11, further comprising a continuous fluid pipe or continuous pipe and lighting source mounted onto the planter shelf

### Claim 13 (depends on 11)

The system of claim 11, further comprising a high tensile strength reinforcement member is embedded inside or on planter shelf flanges.

### Claim 14 (depends on 11)

The system of claim 11, wherein the planter shelf bracket mounting height is adjustable.

### Claim 15 (depends on 11)

The system of claim 11, wherein the plant cultivation system assembly in part or in whole is made of non-metallic material.

### Claim 16 (depends on 11)

The system of claim 11, further comprising at least one photovoltaic device, IoT device, or photovoltaic device and IoT device are installed on and in the plant cultivation system.

### Claim 17 (depends on 11)

The system of claim 11 wherein at least one post with a chase retains back to back shelves with or without a partition wall in between.

### Claim 18 (depends on 11)

The system of claim 11, further comprising an enclosure at a top of the planter shelf to retain a shading device or store power generated by a photovoltaic panel.

### Claim 18 (depends on 11)

The system of claim 11, wherein the post fluid or fluid and power devices are enclosed in a chase with an operable access panel.

### Claim 19 (depends on 11)

The system of claim 11, further comprising at least one electric device, mechanical device, irrigation device, or combinations thereof is mounted to a tray, wherein the tray is assembled and mounted inside the chase prior to arrival at an installed location.
