Abstract
This disclosure provides a User Equipment (UE), including: a transmitter configured to transmit at least one Protocol Data Unit (PDU) session identifier (ID), each of which indicates a PDU session that the UE needs to use in a Non Access Stratum (NAS) Service Request message to a Mobility Management Function (MMF) via an access network (AN) node when the UE has user data to send.
Claims21
1-11. (canceled)
A controlling method in User Equipment (UE), comprising:
- transmitting, in a Non Access Stratum (NAS) Service Request message, information indicating at least one Protocol Data Unit (PDU) session identifier (ID), each PDU session ID indicating one of multiple PDU sessions that the UE uses, to a network node for mobility management via an Access Network (AN) node when the UE has user data to send,
- wherein the information indicating the at least one PDU session ID indicates at least one session to be activated.
A controlling method in a Session Management Function (SMF) node, comprising:
- transmitting an inactivity timer value for specifying a period to a User Plane Function (UPF) node;
- and
- determining that a Protocol Data Unit (PDU) session among multiple PDU sessions established in User Equipment (UE) is deactivated in a case where the UPF node determines that the PDU session has no data transfer based on the inactivity timer value.
A controlling method in a User Plane Function (UPF) node, comprising:
- receiving an inactivity timer value from a Session Management Function (SMF) node;
- determining that a Protocol Data Unit (PDU) session has no data transfer based on the inactivity timer value;
- and
- notifying the SMF node of no data transfer of the PDU session.
A controlling method in a network node for mobility management, comprising:
- receiving, in a Non Access Stratum (NAS) message from User Equipment (UE) via an Access Network (AN) node, at least one Protocol Data Unit (PDU) session identifier (ID), each PDU session ID indicating a PDU session that the UE uses;
- and
- transmitting a message related to at least one PDU session corresponding to the at least one PDU session ID, to a Session Management Function (SMF) node associated with one of the at least one PDU session ID.
User Equipment (UE) comprising:
- a memory storing instructions;
- and
- at least one processor configured to process the instructions to:
- transmit, in a Non Access Stratum (NAS) Service Request message, information indicating at least one Protocol Data Unit (PDU) session identifier (ID), each PDU session ID indicating one of multiple PDU sessions that the UE uses, to a network node for mobility management via an Access Network (AN) node when the UE has user data to send,
- wherein the information indicating the at least one PDU session ID indicates at least one session to be activated.
A Session Management Function (SMF) node comprising:
- a transmitter configured to transmit an inactivity timer value for specifying a period to a User Plane Function (UPF) node;
- and
- at least one processor configured to determine that a Protocol Data Unit (PDU) session among multiple PDU sessions established in User Equipment (UE) is deactivated in a case where the UPF node determines that the PDU session has no data transfer based on the inactivity timer value.
A User Plane Function (UPF) node comprising:
- a receiver configured to receive an inactivity timer value from a Session Management Function (SMF) node;
- a processor configured to determine that a Protocol Data Unit (PDU) session has no data transfer based on the inactivity timer value;
- and
- a transmitter configured to notify the SMF node of no data transfer of the PDU session.
A network node for mobility management, comprising:
- a receiver configured to receive, in a Non Access Stratum (NAS) message from User Equipment (UE) via an Access Network (AN) node, at least one Protocol Data Unit (PDU) session Identifier (ID), each PDU session ID indicating a PDU session that the UE uses;
- and
- a transmitter configured to transmit a message related to at least one PDU session corresponding to the at least one PDU session ID, to a Session Management Function (SMF) node associated with one of the at least one PDU session ID.
