Abstract
A projection system for projecting an indicator to provide a visible representation of at least a portion of a target route can include a light source operable to emit light and image forming means for forming the indicator. The projection system can include a processor for controlling the image forming means. The processor can be configured to determine a target route and, based on the determined target route, to control the image forming means to control the light emitted from the light source to form the indicator.
Claims20
A projection system for projecting an indicator to provide a visible representation of at least a portion of a target route, the projection system comprising:
- a light source operable to emit light;
- image forming means for forming the indicator;
- and
- a processor for controlling the image forming means, wherein the processor is configured to:
- determine a target route;
- and
- based on the determined target route, control the image forming means to control the light emitted from the light source to form the indicator.
A route analysis system for a vehicle, the route analysis system comprising a processor configured to:
- determine a target route for the vehicle;
- generate a target route indicator for projection onto a section of ground to provide a visual representation of the determined target route;
- receive image data from one or more image sensors, the image data comprising an image of a section of ground onto which the target route indicator is projected;
- process the image data to identify an incident route indicator generated by the projection of the route indicator;
- identify distortions in the incident route indicator caused by projecting the route indicator onto the section of ground;
- and
- identify one or more terrain features in said section of ground based on the identified distortions.
A terrain feature analysis system for use with a vehicle, the terrain feature analysis system comprising a processor configured to:
- receive image data from one or more image sensors, the image data comprising an image of a section of ground onto which a predetermined reference pattern is projected;
- process the image data to identify an incident pattern generated by the projection of the predetermined reference pattern onto the section of ground;
- identify distortions in the incident pattern caused by projecting the predetermined reference pattern onto the section of ground;
- and
- identify one or more terrain features in said section of ground based on the identified distortions.
