Abstract

A synchronization method, suitable between a first electronic device and a second electronic device, includes following operations. A first pulse of a wireless signal sent from the first electronic device is received by the second electronic device. A first status of the second electronic device is determined. A second pulse of the wireless signal is received after the first pulse. A receiving time gap between the first pulse being received and the second pulse being received by the second electronic device is measured. A new status of the second electronic device is determined according to the receiving time gap and the first status of the second electronic device. Whether to synchronize a system clock on the second electronic device with the second pulse of the wireless signal is determined according to the new status.

Dependent claims

A synchronization method, suitable between a first electronic device and a second electronic device, the synchronization method comprising:

receiving a first pulse of a wireless signal sent from the first electronic device by the second electronic device;
determining a first status of the second electronic device;
receiving a second pulse of the wireless signal after the first pulse;
measuring a receiving time gap between the first pulse being received and the second pulse being received by the second electronic device;
determining a new status of the second electronic device according to the receiving time gap and the first status of the second electronic device;
and
determining whether to synchronize a system clock on the second electronic device with the second pulse of the wireless signal according to the new status.

a first electronic device, comprising:
a wireless transmitter configured to send a wireless signal, the wireless signal comprises a series of periodic pulses;
and
a second electronic device, comprising:
a wireless receiver, configured to receive a first pulse of the wireless signal and a second pulse of the wireless signal after the first pulse;
and
a processor, configured to:
determine a first status of the second electronic device in response to the first pulse being received;
measure a receiving time gap between the first pulse being received and the second pulse being received in response to the second pulse being received;
determine a new status of the second electronic device according to the receiving time gap and the first status of the second electronic device;
and
determine whether to synchronize a system clock on the second electronic device with the second pulse of the wireless signal according to the new status.
