Abstract
An amplifier comprising a current-biased active device, a voltage-biased active device, the voltage-biased active device and the current-biased active device are connected in series, to form a cascade of active devices, and an input terminal and an output terminal, the cascade of active devices connected between the input terminal and the output terminal, having an output terminal for driving a load impedance with an output signal in response to an input signal applied to the input terminal.
Claims11
An amplifier comprising:
- a current-biased active device;
- a voltage-biased active device, the voltage-biased active device and the current-biased active device are connected in series, to form a cascade of active devices;
- and
- an input terminal and an output terminal, the cascade of active devices connected between the input terminal and the output terminal, having an output terminal for driving a load impedance with an output signal in response to an input signal applied to the input terminal.
A multibranch amplifier comprising:
- a first transistor-based amplifier in a first amplifier branch and at least one second transistor-based amplifier in an additional branch;
- and
- a constant current source connected to provide a bias point of at least one of the transistor-based amplifiers.
An amplifier comprising:
- a first transistor-based amplifier and at least one second transistor-based amplifier;
- a constant voltage source connected to provide a first bias point for one of the first and second transistor-based amplifiers to generate first load modulation behavior by increasing output power in response to decreasing effective impedance at an output;
- and
- a constant current source connected to provide a second bias point for the other of the first and second transistor-based amplifiers to generate second load modulation behavior by increasing output power in response to decreasing effective impedance at the output.
