Abstract

An electronic device includes a first conductive plate, a second conductive plate that is spaced from the first conductive plate and is disposed parallel to the first conductive plate, a conductive element that is disposed in a space between the first conductive plate and the second conductive plate, a wireless communication circuit that is electrically connected with the first conductive plate and the conductive element, and a printed circuit board that is coupled with at least one side of the first conductive plate, at least one side of the second conductive plate, and one end of the conductive element. The wireless communication circuit is configured to transmit/receive a first radio frequency (RF) signal having a vertical polarization characteristic using the first conductive plate and the second conductive plate and to transmit/receive a second RF signal having a horizontal polarization characteristic using the conductive element.

Dependent claims

An electronic device comprising:

a first conductive plate;
a second conductive plate spaced from the first conductive plate and disposed parallel to the first conductive plate;
a conductive element disposed in a space between the first conductive plate and the second conductive plate;
a wireless communication circuit electrically connected with the first conductive plate and the conductive element;
and
a printed circuit board coupled with at least one side of the first conductive plate, at least one side of the second conductive plate, and one end of the conductive element,
wherein the wireless communication circuit is configured to:
transmit/receive a first radio frequency (RF) signal having a vertical polarization characteristic using the first conductive plate and the second conductive plate and transmit/receive a second RF signal having a horizontal polarization characteristic using the conductive element.

a housing including a front plate, a back plate facing a direction opposite the front plate, and a side portion surrounding a space between the front plate and the back plate;
a touchscreen display exposed through the front plate;
an antenna array disposed in the space;
wherein the antenna array includes at least one group, wherein the at least one group includes:
a first conductive plate disposed parallel to the back plate and spaced from the back plate by a first distance;
a pair of conductive elements spaced from the first conductive plate when viewed from above the back plate and disposed parallel to the back plate, wherein the pair of conductive elements includes:
a first conductive element spaced from the back plate by a second distance greater than the first distance;
and
a second conductive element spaced from the back plate by the second distance or a third distance greater than the second distance;
and
a second conductive plate interposed between the first conductive plate and the front plate, disposed parallel to the back plate, and spaced from the back plate by a fourth distance greater than the third distance;
a wireless communication circuit electrically connected with the first conductive plate and the first conductive element or the second conductive element;
and
a processor electrically connected to the display and the wireless communication circuit,
wherein the wireless communication circuit is configured to transmit/receive a signal in a frequency band of 20 GHz or higher.
