Display device having a light-emitting element and a color filter

A display device comprising:

• a first color filter between a first substrate and a second substrate;
• a first pixel defining pattern on a side surface of the first color filter;
• a first light-emitting element between the first substrate and the first color filter;
• a first device passivation layer between the first light-emitting element and the first color filter, the first device passivation layer surrounding a first pattern end of the first pixel defining pattern;
• and
• a second device passivation layer between the first color filter and the second substrate, the second device passivation layer surrounding a second pattern end of the first pixel defining pattern.

A display device comprising:

• a light-emitting element;
• a pixel defining pattern on the light-emitting element, and aligned with the light-emitting element, the pixel defining pattern having a tapered configuration including a wider end and a narrower end;
• and
• a color filter contained within the pixel defining pattern, and aligned with the light-emitting element.
