Abstract
A parking beacon docking station for a vehicle can include a dock for receiving a parking beacon and means for determining if the parking beacon is docked or undocked. The parking beacon docking station can be configured to determine a reference speed of the vehicle. An alert can be generated if the detection means determines that the parking beacon is undocked and the reference speed of the vehicle exceeds a predetermined threshold.

A parking beacon docking station for a vehicle, the parking beacon docking station comprising:
- a dock for receiving a parking beacon;
- and
- a control unit configured to:
- determine if the parking beacon is docked or undocked;
- and
- determine a reference speed of the vehicle;
- wherein the parking beacon docking station is configured to generate an alert if the control unit determines that the parking beacon is undocked and the reference speed of the vehicle exceeds a predetermined threshold.
